I've always
wanted to paint a very small village nestled in a picture perfect valley. So
I combined all the elements of a perfect valley together with a beautiful
view of spectacular mountain vistas, a winding river, lush fields and
meadows, and homes and farms scattered throughout. But the centerpiece of
attraction was inspired by the way the soft evening light struck the church
steeple in a little Italian village I had seen. I wanted the viewer to be
led down the path to the village, rest at the church for a moment, then
follow the curves and bends of the river back down to the bridge. I want
this painting to evoke feelings of peace and warmth in your heart and for
you to feel invited to enjoy the remarkable beauty of God's handiwork. I
want hope to rise again in your soul that, yes there will be Peace in
the Valley someday.
