Up in the mountains of northern Georgia is one of the most beautiful lakes you will ever see. Bonnie and I had the privilege of hanging out with some friends at their lake house there, and it was a wonderful experience. Powerful emotions stirred in me causing me to feel the desire to connect with my family in deep ways, to build memories with my children, and to offer these experiences to our friends as well. This home on the water oozed with memories and laughter, with playing games through the night and boating during the day. Sitting on the dock, it was as if years of summer family gatherings were flowing through me. It was overwhelming. I knew what my next painting would be. I wanted to capture the dream that I was experiencing on the shores of Lake Burton. I purposefully didn’t put any people in the image because I wanted you to know that this is your place to unwind, to relax, and to build memories. I hope it inspires you to go ahead and get out the board games, whether it’s vacation week or not, invite the kids, some friends, or relatives to come over and celebrate your life – because it is worth it.
