When my wife and I got the news that we were going to be young parents, we decided to go on a fun trip, just the two of us. We kind of called it one of our many “honeymoons.” We went out west and drove through some of the most beautiful country God created! In one particular part of Colorado, we kept jumping out of the rental car and taking pictures of the bright gold trees, the waterfalls and cliffs, and the unforgettable immense mountain peaks! A couple of months later, I started this big grand painting to capture the feeling we shared there. On one particular day of painting this piece, I had such a feeling that our baby boy was coming that night. I put my paintbrush down, prayed for a little bit, and then took a picture of it so I could remember exactly what brushstrokes I applied last before my son was born. That evening we went to the hospital and the next morning at 6:30, baby Isaac was born! It was a week or two before I got back to work on this painting, but it will always hold such a special place in my heart and in my home because it was the one I worked on as my son was born! I hope y’all enjoy this painting and it speaks something special to you too!
